Great Router, Vista Cure July 22, 2010 DrP (Centennial, CO) This router is very easy to set up, and I am NOT a network engineer or a techie by any means. The quick set up instructions were easy to follow, and I had the wireless up and running and a printer connected in no time. I did, however, experience the connectivity issue with Windows Vista. My desktop would not connect to the internet, even though it was telling me there was no connection issue. I remembered a review on here saying that Vista was a problem, so I went to my laptop that runs XP, got onto the SMC website and downloaded the latest firmware update. I put it on a jumpdrive, followed the easy SMC instructions to upload the firmware, and presto, the desktop worked perfectly. Great download speeds so far, and no problems. So, if you are running Vista, either load the update on to a jumpdrive or put it on your desktop before you disconnect your other router, and you should be good.

Great router July 5, 2010 Independent Thinker Everything I hoped for. This router is a huge improvement over the last two Belkins. I've had it a couple of months and no problems so far. It's speedy, reliable, and well made. If it lasts, then it is a fantastic deal.
Excellent wireless router with great customer service May 19, 2010 Jim (San Diego, CA United States) I was skeptical in setting up a wireless network at home because of all the nightmare stories I'd heard about the various products out there. But after reading the great reviews on this router I decided to take a chance. I did have some trouble getting it set up inititally, but they have a fairly easy online configuration utility on their web site, and with help from an excellent customer service, it was up and running pretty quickly.
I've been using it primarily for Netflix movie downloads through my Sony Blu-ray player and have had reliable and very fast throughput for several weeks now with only a couple of drop-outs, which were quickly resolved. I highly recommend it.
Stable Connections with Excellent Throughput May 13, 2010 Marshall Masters (Northern CA United States) I looked into this router after returning a Netgear 3700 Wireless N router that cost me a whole day of grief. The reviews on this product were very helpful. Especially those by the IT engineers and a 1-star review by M. Payne. The review by M. Payne flagged a real issue so I checked the SMC site and found a new firmware update was available so I ordered the router.
Before going wireless years ago, I used an SMC G wired router that was simply a superb work horse. SMC technical support was super then and still is. They walked me through the upgrade and installation and the router is is giving me great reliability and throughput. What I like most is no more lost connections, even while uploading 8+GB of media files via FTP.
Before installing this router, update the firmware. The router I purchased from Amazon had a very old version of the firmware that creates the kind of problems M. Payne had, plus others. Once you update the firmware, you can beat on this think like a rented mule. Also, the default configuration for the firewall is very aggressive. You may need to scale it back a little for legacy FTP apps. SMC techs can talk you through it.
Other routers will have more bells and whistles, but SMC delivers what you need a router to do.
