Product Description The Dual-Band Wireless-N Gigabit Router is really four devices in one box. First, there's the dual-band Wireless Access Point, which lets you connect to the network without wires. There's also a built-in 4-port full-duplex 10/100/1000 Switch to connect your wired-Ethernet devices together at up to gigabit speeds. The Router function ties it all together and lets your whole network share a high-speed cable or DSL Internet connection.

Outstanding Product March 12, 2010 BigEd (Jax FL) I think things have changed. The reviews I've read prior to purchase said NOT to use the accompanied software to set it up. Now they include a "temporary" copy of their Network Magic software to help you install it. It expires in seven days, but it was a breeze to use to get the network set up. I plugged in the CD and followed the steps. It explains everything clearly. What your choices are and what the consequences of each choice is. It really took about 5-10 minutes to get it up and running.
I choose to enable lock out. So to get my PS3 in the loop I had to plug the information into it and get it searching for a network and get the router looking for other things to add simultaneously. Once they found each other I re-enabled lock out.
I plan to go ahead and pay the $40 to keep Network Magic. It not only helped to set up the network but it has other functions that I think are worth it. Montioring, tracking usage, tracking intrusion, reports on usage. It can take snapshots on demand or at predetermined intervals of other computers history in your network.
Great product with great software!
This router rocks!! March 11, 2010 Dewey Lee Raynor Jr. I bought this router to replace an old pre n router that had problems resetting its IP address if there was ever any glitch in the power feed. This router currently does everything that I could ask and no problems found yet.
Linksys WRT 610N Router March 10, 2010 Cleophus The Route was easy to install. It was a replacement for the Linksys WRT 300N. I let the Network Magic Software do some of the work and I fine tuned the rest. I get more range on this WRT 600N than I did the WRT 300N.
Good, but a bit of deception in advertisement March 8, 2010 David Bassler and Yuen Mei Chan (San Diego, CA) Generally I like this product, however there is one thing you should be aware of prior to purchase. It advertises that it has the capability to connect a printer/external hard drive via USB. What they don't say is that you HAVE to pay ADDITIONAL money for software to use this function. I generally have been very happy with Linksys products, but this really gave me a ripped off feeling. If you read the description you would think that the function of connecting and using a printer or hard drive via USB is included with the purchase of the product. Otherwise, the unit works fine as long as you are not expecting to connect a printer or hard drive to another computer on your network.
NOT Apple Friendly March 7, 2010 Christopher J. Maddox (San Diego, CA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Ive been a avid user of Linksys router products for years.
Currently I have a middle of the road PC with Win7 configuration.
Music is important in our house. After much research I found the best way to share music wirelessly is through Airport Express off itunes. I bought 3 Airport Expresses & this experience did not go well.
Come to find Linksys does not play well with APX. It had trouble seeing & prioritizing them on the network & I had drop outs of audio constantly (Very annoying). I did all the things I could do: Changed the robustness, changed the broadcast channel, scanned for interference, set up QOS & mac address based priority. Still: SAME PROBLEM.
Eventually I bought an Apple Airport Extreme Router.
It sets up in 1/2 the time with 1/10 the steps & works great on my PC & with my APX set up. Cant say that Linksys didnt work, but it certainly didnt work well enough.
