Product Description
  • Auto detect your internet connection type and manual free setup
  • Download Master: 24 hours downloading even PC is shut down
  • USB port for FTP All-in-One Printer sharing
  • Universal repeater mode : extend your wireless signal coverage only by 3 steps

    EZ All-in-One Printer sharing
The new ASUS wireless router distinguishes itself with the "auto switching" function. It not only enables multiple users to use multifuntion printer wirelessly without a PC or server turned on 24 hours a day, but also rules out the trouble of repeating "disconnecting" and "re-connecting" when users switch. When different users are to use the printer, the router switches automatically, which enables different users to use the printer simultaneously. After plugging in the USB printer into ASUS wireless router and running the ASUS Network Printer Setup program, each user can enjoy easy scanning and easy printing.

EZ Switch - Switch your Operation Mode only ONE-TOUCH
The ASUS' newly designed EZ Switch provides three operation mode, user can change it more easily, only ONE-TOUCH.

3 minutes complete FTP setting via ASUS AiDisk
AiDisk combines simple FTP settings with the ASUS DDNS service to share files with friends easily no matter when and where the user is. By simply utilizing the RT-N13U with a USB hard disk, users will be able to create a mini FTP server at home and only requires them to setup an account and password and select the file they want to share. With the bundled AiDisk quick installation guide included in the box, users can rest easy and not worry about complicated settings. Users will be able to easily create their own FTP servers with easily recognized and meaningful hostname like: ftp://yourname.asuscomm.com , instead of a hard to remember IP addresses or URLs.

    Enhanced Download Master

    24/7 Non-Stop BT Download:
HTTP, FTP, BT (BitTorrent) download protocols can be download automatically from the internet. You

4 out of 5 stars Solid equipment, poor support   September 7, 2010
    Ben F (Washington, DC)
I'm happy with the router. Haven't tried using it as a print server, and haven't tried ASUS's DDNS service, but connectivity and coverage are great, and it's working well as a local FTP file server.

However, getting it to work as a file server was an adventure.

I formatted an old hard drive to EXT3 using an Ubuntu CD, but when I connected it to the router's USB port the router reported that the drive had been unmounted and could be safely removed. Not helpful. Nothing in the documentation hinted at the problem, much less a solution.

In a forum post for a different ASUS router I learned that current versions of Linux format drives with an inode size of 256 bytes, but that the ASUS router can only recognize drives that have 128-byte inodes. I barely understand what this means, but a user shouldn't have to!

I found instructions for reformatting my drive at
    [...]

I had to do it via the Terminal's command line interface; GUI utilities like Gparted don't allow the user to specify the inode size of a partition. I suppose one could also search for an old Linux distro that uses a default inode size of 128 bytes.

ASUS needs to document this prominently, and then update the router firmware to recognize standard EXT2/3 partitions, and ideally put a "format attached drive" button in the browser's web GUI so that users aren't forced to deal with Linux (neither Windows nor OS X have native support for EXT2/3). Given my experiences with ASUS tech support, I'm not holding my breath.

1 out of 5 stars When the support # is a fax, you know you got problems   September 1, 2010
    Shafiqa
I have a Linksys that has been having problems on and off throughout it's life with the wireless connection, giving me 1 MPS connections instead of 54+ that it usually does. Read reviews on this router and decided to take a chance.

The software crashed twice and the only way to terminate it was to reboot the machine, and that was just the beginning. The unit could not connect to the internet and the software gave errors that did not make any sense. If you read one of the reviewers below, he describes how, after 2 hrs and surfing the web, he was able to connect to the internet. It's only a few steps, but if you do not have internet access and the support line is a fax line, how would you find out? This is my only access point at home, as is for most other homeowners.

I'd say that if the company can't get the basics right, how can you expect it to provide you a quality product? Not having WEP in this day and age is just pathetic as well.

5 out of 5 stars Great router for the value   August 31, 2010
    Victor Tran
I bought this router because it came with a rebate. Immediately after receiving the unit, I flashed the router to DD-WRT. Its pretty easy. All you have to do is just install the Asus software utility and then open up Asus firmware restoration software. Load up the DD-WRT software and your set. Just look for the instruction online....

Overall, I thought it pretty easy to use and has decent signal. I didn't expect the signal to be powerful due to the lack of antenna. I didn't try the print server. So as a normal wireless router, it works great.

    4 out of 5 stars Wi-fi in 10 minutes   August 29, 2010
    Car Buff
Fairly easy bring-up. With some careful reading and basic wireless knowledge, my HP notebook was on-the-air in minutes.
Attaching the printer was even easier. Just follow the instructions and enjoy!

5 out of 5 stars Flashed with DD-WRT and works great   August 28, 2010
    C'curry
This router replaced a 6 month old Motorola SB901, which was 6 months old and sucked so much. As soon as I got it, I flashed it with DD-WRT. It was painless and quick. In two hours I had all my machines connected and was getting the 20mbps I'm supposed to get.

I updated the settings with what it needs to use my old HP inkjet printer as a network printer and it worked perfectly.

Only thing I haven't tested yet is networked storage, next week.

Oh, and the rebate certainly doesn't hurt.
