Product Description Auto detect your internet connection type and manual free setupDownload Master: 24 hours downloading even PC is shut downUSB port for FTP All-in-One Printer sharingUniversal repeater mode : extend your wireless signal coverage only by 3 stepsEZ All-in-One Printer sharing The new ASUS wireless router distinguishes itself with the "auto switching" function. It not only enables multiple users to use multifuntion printer wirelessly without a PC or server turned on 24 hours a day, but also rules out the trouble of repeating "disconnecting" and "re-connecting" when users switch. When different users are to use the printer, the router switches automatically, which enables different users to use the printer simultaneously. After plugging in the USB printer into ASUS wireless router and running the ASUS Network Printer Setup program, each user can enjoy easy scanning and easy printing. EZ Switch - Switch your Operation Mode only ONE-TOUCH The ASUS' newly designed EZ Switch provides three operation mode, user can change it more easily, only ONE-TOUCH. 3 minutes complete FTP setting via ASUS AiDisk AiDisk combines simple FTP settings with the ASUS DDNS service to share files with friends easily no matter when and where the user is. By simply utilizing the RT-N13U with a USB hard disk, users will be able to create a mini FTP server at home and only requires them to setup an account and password and select the file they want to share. With the bundled AiDisk quick installation guide included in the box, users can rest easy and not worry about complicated settings. Users will be able to easily create their own FTP servers with easily recognized and meaningful hostname like: ftp://yourname.asuscomm.com , instead of a hard to remember IP addresses or URLs. Enhanced Download Master 24/7 Non-Stop BT Download: HTTP, FTP, BT (BitTorrent) download protocols can be download automatically from the internet. You

Well, the second one works so far July 27, 2010 Jerry Neely (Texas) The first RT-N13U I ordered simply did not work. I ran the configuration wizard and and it seemed to connect to the internet a couple of times but dropped the connection right away. I could not even connect locally (http) to the router to access the configuration menu. So after a couple of hours of fiddling, I gave up and returned it for a replacement.
When I opened the box of the second router, I was anything but hopeful. Amazon had sent me an obviously opened box that had apparently been returned by someone else. To my surprise, this one does seem to work so far, both for direct and wireless connections. The USB print server works as well which is a nice feature. It does leave me wondering why it was returned and what kind of time bomb it might turn out to be. It also leaves me wondering who Amazon will send my first, non-working router to. If it's you, my condolences.
Repeater mode July 25, 2010 Larry A. Hill Will reconfigure my network in the future but at the present time am using this as a repeater for the signal from a Trend637AP which is hardwired to a Belkin router. Setup was relatively quick and, despite the variety of manufacturers involved, all components are playing nicely together. Laptop indicates a 270Mbs connection.
ASUS RT-N13U Wireless Router July 24, 2010 clyde w bailey (Durham, NC, US) Excellent range, easy to set up and a great deal with a $[...]! First rate reception in a small package, 1/2 the footprint of my old CISCO router. Best warranty by far at 3 years! Can't go wrong with this purchase!
Router stopped working in less than a month. July 20, 2010 JohnHancock I bought this router because it was the best price for a N-router with USB for a file server or a USB printer and had a print server feature.
It took me a couple of days to get it set up and the print server was flaky. Upload or download speeds were good. Worked well for the most part.
Its been three weeks and it has stopped working since yesterday. There is no way I can reset the router or get to its admin. The wireless network does now show up either.
Called ASUS and they said I will have to send it to them for repairs and pay shipping one way.
I am sending it back to amazon hoping for a refund because its less than 30 days.
Great as a repeater or Acess Point haven't tried it router but that is probably good too July 20, 2010 Ms. DMD (Dallas, TX USA) I bought this product after purchasing a Linksys E3000 that gave me a 6Mbps connection in my office 20 ft away while using the Linksys AE1000 adapter. To lazy to uninstall my network phone, 4 computers, 2 mobile phones, and printer I spent the money for this repeater. I did not get great results as a repeater, but hey there has to be a signal to repeat right. Not one to give up, I set up the WAP.
I have a switch in the office for the network storage. I attached the RT-N13U to the switch to establish an internet connection. Using the network map I utilized the GUI and configured the router as a WAP. I configured a new SSID and used the same settings as my Linksys router. I now get 144Mbps on my laptop and 300 Mbps on the pc using the AE1000. The WAP increased my connection speed from 6Mbps to 300Mbps! I love the little machine. I wish I had purchased this router from the beginning.
I have not been successful installing printer server but I have Windows 7 running. I am sure it a user error and would like some help to get the printer server and WAP running together. I have no need for ftp. While using this device as a WAP, I can reach more Linksys ftp site and my Linksys shared storage.
I have spent $600 this month buying 1 new router (that is easy to install but only works if you stand next to it) , 2 new wireless adapters, network storage drives, backup software for network storage, and WAP. These upgrades where long time needed for security and speed. But as of today the RT-N13U is the top value I have recieved for my money on hardware. Top value for software was ViceAVersa for backup of network attached storage.
Bottom line a great value. Finally something that delivers for the money.
