After using this product for 2 1\2 months, I can honestly say that it works great. I've had no drop outs or tracking errors from any of my connected devices. I purchased this hub based on the success I've had with a Belkin 4-port hub purchased a year ago. I highly recommend this product.

I tried a couple other usb hubs which did not work well until I got this one. It is a bit of an unusual design, which did not bother me a bit. It does, however, power and connect to my computer everything I plug into it, including my phone. I only have one free connector left on it right now, so I may buy a second one.

This powered hub worked well for several months. I actually had two of these hubs stacked atop each other as they are designed to do. They were both plugged in to external power and daisy chained together back to my iMac. I used all 7 ports, with some of the devices being self powered and others drawing power from the hub/USB. Suddenly, one day with truly no explanation, one of the hubs just stopped working. Although still plugged into external power (and with red LED on), nothing connected to this hub was detected by the computer. I disconnected everything and tried the suspect hub with a different Windows system, but still no recognition of anything connected to it.
Although the other one of these hubs that I own is still working, I am very disquieted by this development. I rely on a lot of USB devices and it is very disruptive to have random failure of the main hub around which my devices are arrayed. There is no clear way to troubleshoot the problem, no reset button nor anything in Belkin's literature or website which provides guidance for dealing with a failure of this sort.

I've been using this for about 3 months now. I really like the two ports on the top of it for plugging in thumb drives and things you don't leave connected all the time. It stays put on my desk, despite being relatively lightweight. Everything I plug into it seems to run as fast as if it's plugged directly into the computer.
I only had one issue with it overheating right after I first got it. It tends to run a little warm anyway and this time it actually stopped working. I unplugged it and let it cool for a while and haven't had any problems since.

This product is good and i have been using it since 6 months and connecting my 2 external hard disks, memory card reader, ipod sync, laptop cooler and so on. Just one thing i noticed and i guess its not that a big deal, even though it is not connected to the laptop, the hard disks are still powered on and i have to remove the power cable every time i am not using them, so additional cable to attach before using it. Rest is all fine and you will get what you expect from this HUB. Must buy!
