Very good router August 8, 2010 S. Edmiston (Chicago) This router lasted for almost three years and performed well during that time. I had a Mac and a Windows laptop hooked up to it, along with a Wii and a blueray player. Set-up was easy and and adding a new computer was simple. The WPA setup was a snap as well.
I just wish it would have lasted longer.
Update: It did last longer. I performed a factory reset on the router and it is back to life.
Close to 4 years and going strong August 6, 2010 C. Parkhouse (Mesa, AZ) I bought this router probably close to 4 years ago and it has been going strong since then. This has to be the most stable router I've ever owned. I can run torrents, usenet, games, etc all at the same time if I wanted and things still seem smooth. I've never had to reboot it in the entire time I've owned it. Of the maybe 4 or 5 times I've rebooted it, I found out that was not the problem (at least 2 or 3 times I had to do a DHCP release and renew on my internet connection). I've been quite impressed by this router...so impressed that I still haven't replaced it with a router that runs DD-WRT despite the fact that I'm using another router that way as a bridge. I've played around with the QoS a bit, but really I know better than to try and play games and download at the same time. It seems to work quite well while doing that, but it's still not something I'd want to push. It has all the usual features you'd expect (port triggering, forwarding, IP reservations based on MAC address, MAC filtering, WEP, WPA, WPA2, etc).
Really I don't care as much about the features as I do about how incredibly stable this thing is. I came from an old Linksys wireless router and this thing was godsend. At one point I think we literally had to reboot the old Linksys DAILY if not more than once daily. I won't really need to replace this sucker until it dies and it seems to be well built so it could be a while.
Far from Regret March 9, 2010 J. Manuel C. A. (Doral, FL United States) I bought this router back in 2006 and i am still working with it, the signal range is good for my house where i put it in a central place.
It has been working since i opened the box non stop and i only had to config it once. I play online games like World of Warcraft, use connections peer to peer to download( torrents which sometimes may be a little tricky setting the ports ), VOIP.
I have 2 PCs attached to the router through Cat 6 cables and 3 by WiFi, the network works very good and all the computers has good lan and internet speed.
It is compatible with my iPhone and none of my friends have had problems connecting to the WiFi when they come to visit and some of them has Macs. The router is very stable, even having a good ammount of machines connected, i don't remember a single time it has reboot or similar.
I am very happy with the router and don't plan in changing it unless it stopped working.
Incredible February 11, 2010 H. C. Reyes This router is incredible on many levels. I bought this router because my house has 2 PS3's, 1 XBOX360, 2 PC's and I was having major issues with lag in gaming and internet. First when I installed it, it checked my internet connection speed so it knew what it could distribute. "GAMEFUEL" technology is great! We are able to maintain lag free connections with the computer,PS3 "call of duty MW2" and XBOX360 "ghost recon 2" simultaneously online. I've re-installed Windows XP and the router maintained perfect connection for the XBOX while the PC downloaded and updated the service packs. The secret is that gamefuel technology. It prioritizes game traffic over any other traffic, giving the games the best internet and leaving the leftovers for anything else. The router has built in rules for a lot of games, including XBOX live, so it's easy to setup and use.. basically plug and play. I recommend this router to everyone I play with.. yes, it's that bad @ss!
Cannot go wrong with this one! December 13, 2009 D. Felix (Curacao, Netherlands Antilles) I have had this router for close to 4 years, and its still rock solid. Never gets hot to the touch, soldiering away with wired and wireless clients on it all the time. I currently have 2 windows 7 based computers, a windows home server and an old macmini all coexisting peacefully and transferring files at the weakest links speed.
I don't play games on the internet though so I wouldn't know about pings and stuff, but its nice to know that its all there should I need it.
Its truly an awesome product, must buy if you are looking for something like this.
