Amazon.com Product Description
Amazon.com Product Description The Belkin G+ MIMO Wireless Router lets you easily set up a wireless network in an apartment or small office, letting you share a broadband Internet connection with multiple computers. The G+ MIMO Wireless Router offers enhanced range and speed compared to standard Wireless G routers, making it possible to transmit large documents quickly and stream large music and video files without any hiccups.

The Belkin G+ MIMO Wireless Router:
  • Creates a Wireless-G network with more range and speed than standard Wireless G routers.
  • Offers backward compatibility with 802.11b networks.
  • Has four 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports for wired connections.

MIMO antenna technology allows for greater performance than standard Wireless G routers. View larger.

The router also includes four wired Ethernet ports. View larger.
Smart Design with Wired and Wireless Connections
The G+ MIMO Wireless Router has a striking, vertical enclosure that is both handsome and space efficient. The two built-in external antennas provide a wireless range of 1,000 feet and easily cover an apartment or small office. Six LEDs for Power, Wired, Wireless, Modem, Security, and Internet lets you know the status of your network at a glance, making it easy to troubleshoot any problems.

Wireless G+ uses the same 802.11g technology as Wireless G but also includes an advanced MIMO (multiple input multiple output) antenna technology that increases both its speed and range. This makes G+ suitable for heavier Internet users who transmit large files.

In addition to surfing the Internet, checking emails, and chatting with friends, Wireless G+ provides enough bandwidth to transfer large photo and music files, and stream videos without waiting for them to buffer. You can also share networked peripherals such as a Wi-Fi printer, hard drives, and DVDs.

The router is compatible with all 802.11g wireless products and is backwards compatible with 802.11b networks. For maximum speed and range, Belkin's G+ MIMO Wireless USB Adapter and Notebook Card are recommended.

In addition to Wireless G+, the router also has four 10/100 Ethernet ports at the back, giving you the option to plug in for a steady and secure, fast connection running at 100Mbps.

Thanks to the strong built-in security, including support for WPA, WPA2, Wi-Fi Protected Setup, and 64-and 128-bit WEP encryption, you will be protected from hackers and intruders trying to gain access to your sensitive files. Setting up security is simple, too: just push the Wi-Fi Protected Setup button located on the front of the router. The router also supports VPN for making secure connections between home and office.

Easy to Set Up
Belkin designed the G+ MIMO Wireless Router to be as simple to use as possible. Simply connect your wireless router to your cable or DSL modem, plug the router in, and connect your computer to the router. That's it. To help monitor your network performance and usage, the router includes Personal Network Assistant software, which runs on Windows XP/Vista and Mac OS X 10.4/10.5.

The Belkin G+ MIMO Wireless router is backed by a 1-year warranty and includes free 24/7 technical support.

What's in the Box
G+ MIMO wireless router, quick installation guide, Personal Network Assistant CD, user manual on CD, power supply, RJ45 Ethernet networking cable.

Share a single high-speed internet connection with everyone in the family.

5 out of 5 stars Good wireless router   March 14, 2010
WhiteLily928 (KC, MO USA)
This is my first wireless router so my only comparison is to a wired connection. I love my wireless router. My husband set it up and said that he had to go through the steps 3 times to before it worked; I can't say if it was user error or an issue with set up since I wasn't present. We have it set up in the basement and use our laptops upstairs. The signal strength is very good and I do not have an issue with dropped connections to my wireless router. The router only has one antenna even though the picture shows two. I chose this router based on other customer reviews on various sites including Amazon and based on my needs. I don't have a wireless N card on any of my pc's so I didn't get an N router. I chose this one because it is a little better than a regular G router, it is affordable (good price and free shipping from Amazon), and it is fast. I check email and surf the web. My husband is a gamer. Before we received the router, he said he would never use it because it would cause lag on his online games. After trying it out, he now plays wirelessly full time. So far we haven't had any issues with it after about 1 month of daily use.

3 out of 5 stars Weak Signal   March 14, 2010
~~Hummingbirder~~ (Pataskala, OH)
I bought this as a potential replacement for my 2WIRE router, which I've had for quite some time. 2WIRE is pretty expensive, and this looked like it would meet my needs.

I really did not have an easy time setting this up. Naturally, my ISP wasn't listed. The setup instructions are clear, but if you miss or drop a signal, the setup will stop. Then you have to reinsert the install disk and start all over. I did succeed, only to find that the best signal I could get was 4 out of 5 bars, and that's with my laptop only about 20 feet away and not a single solid wall between router and laptop.

I'm holding on to it still, as a backup, but if I ever need it, I'll be shopping for a bargain on another router.

4 out of 5 stars Good for the price   March 13, 2010
Inwester (New York Area, USA)
Bought this for $35 on Amazon. Setting it up was not a problem, although my earlier Linksys and older Belkin routers were much easier. I always get the maximum speed my internet service provider promised, so I guess it works. Probably not worth if you are to pay more than $35. Currently the item is under review by Amazon, and they are not selling it, so may be look somewhere else.

1 out of 5 stars Beware!   March 12, 2010
T. Haslinger (Illinois)
On 7/24/09 I bought this Router. It stopped working after 8 months. I called a Belkin agent several times and each time the agent was not able to fix it. She then told me that it was my firewall's fault and hung up on me. (I do not have a firewall.) Several times before on other products, Belkin gave me the wrong information. I will never buy a Belkin product for as long as I live. Why does Belkin give warrenties? They obviously don't stand by them. The only thing I will take from them now is stock in the Company! (The agents were very difficult to understand, too.)

5 out of 5 stars good stuff   March 11, 2010
Frank J. Ripperger (CT)
Strong signal with small footprint. Needed tech support to get things going but they did an excellent job getting me through it.
