Nice try, but... August 21, 2010 smartbuynyc I'm so disappointed because the wireless transmission doesn't even make it through two (small) rooms. I don't know how other people here made their speakers work but the constant breaks/interruptions in the transmission make it useless for outside use. If in the same room, the transmission is totally fine but as soon you have one or the other wall in between you'll start having those annoying interruptions.
Besides that I wasn't too impressed by the overall sound quality. The base is super flat, almost not noticeable and the high and mid-tones sound very familiar to one of my very first, cheap sound systems when I was a kid. Well, I guess you get what you pay for and since audio quality is really important to me, I'll turn back to my good old Bose and spend some extra $$$ knowing that I'll ultimately end up with good quality and satisfaction.
Will return mine today hoping for an easy return and look elsewhere...
Nice Speaker System August 18, 2010 Ryan Q (West Jordan, UT) Purchased this unit to listen to our new Zune HD out on our new deck. Sound is great. Don't expect to wake the nieborhood. It doesn't get extreemly loud.
The only reason I rated a 4 instead of 5 is that the transmission base is not wireless. It needs to be plugged in (doesn't take batteries like the speaker unit). I don't recall seeing that information in any of the product description. Not a real big deal.
Wireless range was pretty impressive. I got very good reception from about 35 feet away and going through one wall.
Not as expected August 8, 2010 Barbara Tournear (LARNED, KS, US) Price was good but sound was not to much bass couldnl't hear the singers needed more treble
reviewing speakers July 30, 2010 Marjorie E. Martin These speakers work remarkably well. We have been enjoying using them on our patio and expect to use them for a long time to come.
Good for general use July 23, 2010 Mary This was a snap to get unpacked and setup, it all worked smoothly. I didn't test it for battery life or distance as it wasn't necessary. I was happy that it has a place to keep the remote on the unit so it isn't misplaced. Also that it can run on an adapter. Sounded good to me (but I'm also not very sound system savy, if I can hear it and there's no buzz I'm happy).
I got this as a gift for my dad who's hard of hearing. I wanted him to put it by his seat so he wouldn't turn the tv up so loud. He ended up not liking it because he didn't want the sound coming to him from the side instead of in front (from the TV) because it was disorienting to him. He would turn the wireless speaker on AND leave the tv on and it would be terrible because that would cause an aweful echo. I ended up returning it for him. If it'd been for myself I'm pretty sure I would have been happy and kept it.
So overall, for the everyday person it seems like a good bet. If it's for your grumpy hard-of-hearing dad, maybe not :P
