 17 computers connected effortlessly July 5, 2010
This works like a charm. I picked up these from Best Buy for $139 and tested them out. After that I bought it off Amazon for half the price (returned those of course). I have 13 servers that are connected to this modem through a switch and about 4 computers connected wireless. Its good stuff.

Great product! Took a while to get set up on comcast but it is working great now and I get full signal on my laptop a floor away.

It work great right out the box. Call your cable / Internet provider first before you buy it to make sure it's compatible to their system. After you receive it, don't hook it up until you call the cable/Internet company then follow their instructions before you install the soft wear or connect the cables. I use suddenlink and so far the combo is reliable and fairly fast . It's drop the signal a couple of times. However in my opinion it works great.

The installation CD sets up a network with a predefined SSID. You can't specify your own.
The user's guide, with regard to setting up security, is useless. There are multiple pulldown choices, each of which either blanks out or enables others. There is no explanation for many of these choices. The so-called "help" selection is not context-sensitive. It merely displays pages of inadequate definitions for some items. You have to scroll through the list to find the one you want. Usually you will not find it.

I bought this product because I wanted to save costs on leasing a modem and I am very satisfied with my decision. Its all in one and very much helps reducing the huge mesh of wires in my study from adding a router. The network is very good, I have a two bedroom house and my modem is located in one corner of the house and I get very good signal throughout.
Setting up the wireless was a breeze. I just had to run the installation CD and it was all set. One thing to note is during the installation, the program will assign a network key. Its better to write it down which makes connecting other laptops/pcs in your home easier; without even running the installation cd on them. The features mention about setting an alternate network for guests, I briefly looked through the manual and it looks like it wont be as easy and straightforward and will need some time.
The only downside is that it has only one ethernet port and it could be a problem if you need multiple devices connected through ethernet port and will need to buy a ethernet switch.
But overall satisfied with the product and definitely recommend getting one.
