It is up to ten times faster and has up to ten times more coverage than Wireless-G for a speedy network that won't get bogged down when you you stream music and videos.
The WPN111's small size makes it easy to carry around. View larger. | Easy to Carry, Easier to Setup About the size of a pack of gum, the WPN111 is easy to throw into your purse or pocket. It supports Windows Vista and is also compatible with Windows XP, 2000, 98SE, and Me. The WG111US features a USB 2.0 connection for wide compatibility and high speeds, and setup is as simple as installing the included software and plugging the device into a USB port. A removable cover keeps the connector protected and clean from knocks, dirt and other potential harm. Included is a USB cable making it easier to connect the WG111US to a desktop and saving you the hassle of having to reach for the back of the computer each time you want to connect or disconnect the adapter. Additionally, it allows you to place the adapter at an optimal location for the strongest signal. Also included is a cradle that you can fasten to the wall or a desk for a more stable place to keep the adapter once you've found an ideal location. Fast and Secure The NETGEAR WPN111 supports the 802.11g protocol standard but is able to provide better performance thanks to Smart MIMO technology that incorporates intelligent internal antennas into the router. The router automatically senses interference from devices such as microwaves and cordless phones, and adjusts accordingly. The upshot is speeds up to 108 Mbps with a longer range and a lack of "dead zones" in your home. The adapter is also backwards compatible with 802.11b networks so you don't have to worry about not getting a connection at specific hotspots. The adapter supports 40/64-bit and 128-bit WEP encryption as well as WPA-PSK for security so you don't have to worry about anyone eavesdropping on your emails or stealing your passwords. The included software makes managing different WEP passwords a breeze as you can set up different profiles for each location you frequent, saving yourself the trouble of having to type in encryption keys each time you connect to a hotspot you've already used. The NETGEAR WPN111 RangeMax USB 2.0 Adapter is backed by a 1-year warranty. Total JUNK!! Buyer Beware! February 2, 2010 Jenny K (Orlando, FL) I bought this USB adapter to go with my NetGear router. It keeps dropping (all day long) my internet connection. The only way for the computer to recognize the adapter is to reboot--several times a day. Using Windows 7. What's more, NetGear support has been no help. I do NOT recommend this adapter at all.

The adapter works well, providing good speed and range when connected. The problem
is to use the adapter you must use the manufactures device and connection software.
In other words the device drivers are not provided separately. This software acts as
the connection manager and does so in a manner that is clumsy, redundant and should
not be required to operate the adapter. Overall the quality and construction of the
unit is good, but it's required software lets it down and does a poor job of
effectively maintaining the wireless connection.
Netgear Antenna July 11, 2009 Boynton Bill I received this antenna shortly after ordering it. It works fine. I was somewhat surprised that no installation disk was provided but I was able to download the necessary drivers from the internet and am very pleased with the result. This anetenna has to pick up a signal from about 300 feet away and the signal must travel through two window panes before reaching the antenna. It does a fine job. The only thing I notice is that the antenna does run a little hot. I guess this is normal.
WPN111 netgear adapter June 26, 2009 A. Santiago I was to happy to order this item, the price was just right and I knew netgear is a good brand. I was told it would come with a CD disk to install, instead it came with instruction to found disk download, at netgear.com. After founding the right drive to download. I still had problems getting connected. Had to ask for help from netgear technical support. They were very nice in helping me getting the adapter to work. The adapter starts out working fine, then it will disconnect from the internet and after clicking refresh it will start up again. Also once the computer is shut down and you turn it back on, the adapter stops working. So I have to go thu the whole connecting process again to get the adapter to connect to the internet. I have use many different brands of adapter and this is the 1st time that I am having this problem. I choose this adapter because, its much stronger then the one I had. So I feel there is something wrong with the adapter. My Laptop is fairly new so I know its not the computer. I wouldn't purchase anything else from this seller. I have 2 reason 1st one. It took over a month to get my purchase and 2 Item is defective.
No Netgear support June 26, 2009 JT, Book fan (Decatur, GA) No Netgear support. You cannot download drivers or firmware for this device anymore. The links do not work. I bought this at full retail when it first came out, now at half price, I cannot recommend any netgear products since their website has no accessible drivers to upgrade. I cannot use this device on a secure connection without the most recent firmware. Bad customer support!
