| | | The NETGEAR WPN311 RangeMax Wireless PCI Adapter makes it easy for you to provide wireless internet access to your desktop computer, letting you surf the web, check email, and chat online without the need for cables. It is up to ten times faster and has up to ten times more coverage than Wireless-G for a speedy network that won't get bogged down when you you stream music and videos or make internet phone calls.
Experience ten times the range of standard 802.11g. View larger. | Easy Setup The WG311 is a PCI adapter and requires a PC with a Pentium 300 Mhz-compatible processor or higher with an available PCI slot for installation. It supports Windows Vista and is also compatible with Windows XP, 2000, 98SE, and Me. Setup is as simple as inserting the adapter into a PCI slot and installing the included software. A built-in stub antenna helps you receive as strong a signal as possible for the fastest possible speeds. Fast and Secure The NETGEAR WPN311 supports the 802.11g protocol standard but is able to provide better performance thanks to Smart MIMO technology that incorporates intelligent internal antennas into the router. The router automatically senses interference from devices such as microwaves and cordless phones, and adjusts accordingly. The upshot is speeds up to 108 Mbps with a longer range and a lack of "dead zones" in your home. The adapter is also backwards compatible with 802.11b networks so you don't have to worry about not getting a connection at specific hotspots; the WPN311 will automatically detect the network and allow you to connect to it at the highest speed possible. The adapter supports 40/64-bit and 128-bit WEP encryption as well as WPA-PSK for security so you don't have to worry about anyone eavesdropping on your emails or stealing your passwords. The included software makes managing different WEP passwords a breeze as you can set up different profiles for each location you frequent, saving yourself the trouble of having to type in encryption keys each time you connect to a hotspot you've already used. The NETGEAR WPN311 RangeMax Wireless PCI Adapter is backed by a 1-year warranty. No issues so far April 16, 2010 Twinstwo85 Bought this through Amazon, came in less than a week, plugged it in using Windows Professional Xp, internet connection has been very good. Being used in a computer about 60ft from the Linksys WRT54GL Wireless-G Router. Would recommend this product...and the best part, including shipping & handling the price was half as much as what the big electronic stores were asking. That's the part I like the best.
straightforward, easy installation on XP October 9, 2009 Max E. Nielsen After reading some other reviews describing tough installation, I still bought this card. I followed instructions - loaded the software before installing the card. The installation was completely simple. Connected immediately.

Upset with Best Buy (The retail store) July 19, 2009 ComputerNut (Miami) I brought this product less than a month ago, but I didnt get around to installing it (had 2 other working computers). Finally, last night I installed the card following the instructions and tied it in to my router. Received a good reading that everything was set up fine, but could not connect to the internet. I called tech support (24/7) and after giving then the SN# and model#, I was told that this card is 3 years old, and I should take it back to the store for and updated model or upgrade the firmware. Hence I went with the firmware and it worked perfectly. Bestbuy needs to update their products.
Don't spend the money on it June 5, 2009 Brian R. Lindsey (Austin TX) Followed the instructions to the letter and will connect sporadically. Wanted this card to take advantage of my RangeMax Router.
The card works, but the sofware is horrible. Should have went with a cheaper card.
Netgear Wireless PCI Adapter April 15, 2009 Chris Y. Cummings (Lancaster, PA) I installed this card in my new Windows Vista computer and it connected to my wireless Netgear router with no problems. In fact, I already purchased this exact wireless card before for my other computer about a year ago and it still works great! I would highly recommend this product to everyone. Paying no tax and shipping makes this product even better :-)
