Works with Ubuntu 10.04 Linux August 8, 2010 Paul Berry (Lompoc, CA United States) I ordered a refurbished DWL-G510 for about $15. I'm using it with an Intel Atom N330 motherboard and Ubuntu Linux. I put the card in and it just worked. No need to load drivers. Ubuntu detected it automatically. It connects to my D-Link wiress router 20ft away no problem. It's been running for about 20 minutes now without dropping the connection. I'm running a Bittorrent upload while I'm typing this. So far, no problems or error messages. I gave this card 4 stars. I didn't give it 5 stars, because it's only 802.11g and not 802.11n. But hey, what do you want for 15 bucks.
OLD HARDWARE, does not work with newer security May 10, 2010 DMC Audio (Provo, UT) This card is over 5 years old... in computer years that's ANCIENT. DOES NOT WORK with newer security measures or newer routers. Does not work with N protocol. If you use this card, your computer and router can be hacked within a few minutes. I can't believe D-Link is still selling a card this old. DO NOT BUY!!!
Works with Linux! February 1, 2010 Joseph M. Buonomo (Endicott, NY USA) This item arrived very quickly after my order. The main reason I ordered it was because I needed a wireless adapter that would work with Linux, and I was not disappointed. I am using openSUSE 11.2, and the adapter was recognized immediately with no additional software. The included antenna seems to provide a much stronger signal than I had in the past with USB dongle type adapters.

I did receive the wireless card WITHOUT an antenna...(did I say wireless??) And it was not packed with any safe guard for the pc expansion card as it was wrapped in a plastic shopping bag...OUCH!!!...Guess you get what you pay for...this is not intended to reflect on the manufactor of the device nor AMAZON.COM as I did buy it used...I does work when the router is near the computer though....'

It just works March 3, 2009 Herr Mannelig (USA) I got this to use in an older computer running a modern Linux distro because of its chipset and cost.
It works fine with modern Linux kernels with no set up needed.
